David is a Baltimore resident in his third year with GPV. A well-traveled Richmond native with a strong love for his home state, he is devoted to the vision of GPV as a statewide resource. David’s strong history in human resources, recruiting, and public relations is well matched with his lifelong community connections. His sideline as a performance artist has helped in connecting with the large-scale LGBT talent who perform at Pride each year. Beyond everything else David’s greatest talent is surrounding himself with brilliant and gifted people.

Born and raised in the far west end of Richmond, Mike has always been active in the community. As a UVA graduate and member of the board of directors of the Serpentine Society (the LGBT alumni network of UVA), Mike brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Gay Pride Virginia through his extensive background with various queer organizations. Since joining GPV in 2003, Mike has been a blessing, ensuring that every “i” is dotted and every “t” is crossed in all that we do here! All work and no play makes Mike a dull boy though - so during his free time he enjoys dancing, interior design and throwing elaborate parties!

Given Leonard’s past outstanding volunteer service and advisory role to Gay Pride Virginia, we are happy to have Leonard on board as Treasurer going forward. As a man of the world, Leonard is originally from Louisiana and has done contract work for 25 years, in 14 different U. S. cities and four foreign countries. (Although he hates to fly.) He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, enjoys cheesecake, doing stained glass, and boating. Leonard always comes to meeting full of great ideas and information – and his energy and commitment is a valued asset within the board that keeps everyone motivated. [ GPV hearts Leonard! ]

Shawn is serving as the (much appreciated and over-worked) Website Coordinator. (We love you Shawn!) Having recently moved from DC in the summer of '06, he is eager to play a role in the advancement of the Richmond GLBT Community as a GPV board member. Innovative and always willing to bring new ideas to the table, Shawn strives to keep the website fun, updated and informative while lending a hand at GPV events. He hopes that one day, GPV's annual festival will be the event that people from all around the world mark their calendars for as the biggest to-do around! Shawn enjoys web design, 80s music, dance music and bike riding.

Miss Nova brings a "transgender perspective" to GPV. She is currently in her second year on the Board. She is a Virginia native, and a graduate of VCU. Though she believes her formal education was and is important, she finds her years of traveling much more valuable and insightful. She has traveled to over 50 countries across 5 continents, sometimes with little more than a backpack and a bottle of water. She is very excited about GPV in 2007. One of her most important goals this year is to persuade the transgender community to take a more active and visible roll in the shaping of GLBT Richmond. Nova is also one of the editors and publishers of "the Virginia Flame" (a new GLBT newspaper). In her spare time she enjoys online stock trading, golfing, eating (a bunch), and meeting new friends.

Always upbeat and full of great ideas, Bob is a “senior” board member now in his second year with GPV. Bob was born in Hawaii, grew up in Texas and graduated from TCU in Ft. Worth with a degree in Theatre. Since retiring after 35 years with our local PBS/NPR station, Bob now enjoys spending his free time doing work for the GLBT Community. He was instrumental in developing Prime Timers, Central Virginia, a social organization for gay men, with over 130 members. (It is one of the most active chapters in Prime Timers world-wide!) Since his work at GPV, Bob says that he has witnessed a lot of significant changes in the GLBT community and the greater Richmond area. He now looks forward to the day when people from all over will come to attend all the Gay Pride Virginia events.

Eric is a recent Richmond transplant having recently relocated from Baltimore , MD. He works for Clear Channel Radio, which takes up more time than it should, but is always willing to extend a helping hand when needed to causes that mean the world to him. Besides HRC initiatives and other pro-diversity organizations, Eric also spends a ton of time working with local animal shelters. Besides that, he immerses himself in his writing and encourages people to buy him a beer when they see him.
