7/23 GPV Fundraiser & 8/26 Ms. Capital City Gay Pride Pageant

Come Join us for 2 great events. On Wednesday, July 23rd there will be a Fundraiser to benefit Gay Pride Virginia starring Ms. Capitol City Gay Pride Tiffany Devereaux. All proceeds will be given as a donation from Tiffany and Godfrey's. Show time starts at 11:30pm.

On Saturday, August 23, 2008 Godfrey's will hold their annual Miss. Capitol City Gay Pride Pageant. Doors open at 9pm. Pageant starts at 10pm.

08/16/08 - Gaye Adegbalola and Roddy Barnes in Concert

Tickets for the concert on August 16 available at www.GayRichmond.com or at Diversity Thrift, general admission tickets for the concert only will also be available at the door. Dinner prepared by a volunteer chef who retired to VA from several engagements on the West Coast will also be available, but must be purchased ahead of time (please purchase as soon as possible so that plans for purchasing for the evening can be made).

Tickets for just the show are $10. Tickets for dinner and the show are $22. Dinner patrons receive premium stage side seating; dinner seating starts at 6:00, dinner is at 6:30. Show only tickets are general admission (but there is no "bad seat") and doors open for general admission seating at 7:30. The show starts at 8:00.

The dinner menu is Caesar Salad with a vegetarian dressing, Penne Alfredo, vegetables, NY style cheesecake with Blueberry topping, coffee and tea. Beer and Wine are available from the cash bar.

The show menu is FUN, FUN and More FUN. Gaye and Roddy do a fabulous show!

08/21/08 - Mr. Gay Pride Virginia Contest

On Thursday, August 21^st we will be holding The Mr. Gay Pride Virginia Contest at Barcode. The winner will receive 1 year reign, $200 Grand Prize and will be featured at this year's Annual Pride Festival at the Gay Community Center of Richmond.

Detailed Rules and Regulations for Contestants

1. Applicants must be 21 or older.

2. Application and registration fee: $50.00. It is due and payable no later than the deadline date of the application. Check made payable to Gay Pride Virginia, Inc.

3. Applicants will be judged in Formal Wear, Sports/Casual Wear and Bathing Suit categories. Applicants will provide their own clothing, unless directed otherwise by the Mr. Gay Pride Virginia Committee.

4. Applicants will be judged in a talent competition. Please keep in mind that the 2008 competition stage is extremely small. Special arrangements needed for sound recordings or video requirements must be approved prior to the event. If possible, please visit the stage at Barcode (6 East Grace Street, Richmond VA 23219) before the event to see the available space.

5. During the Formal Attire contest, applicants will be questioned by the

Judge(s). They will have a 3 minute timed period for their response.

6. The drawing for placement in the final contest will be at a location approved by the Mr. Gay Pride VA Committee on the night prior to the final contest. Attendance at the event is required.

7. Contestants will meet with the judge(s) for a detailed interview on the morning of the contest at a place to be decided by the Mr. Gay Pride Committee.

8. Applicants will provide their own transportation and accommodations to and from the required event(s) at no cost to Gay Pride Virginia.

9. Applicants must agree that the title of Mr. Gay Pride Virginia is the sole property of Gay Pride Virginia, Inc. No other organization or individual may use Mr. Gay Pride Virginia for their promotional use without prior approval of the Board of Directors of Gay Pride Virginia. Inc.

10. The Titleholder of Mr. Gay Pride Virginia is subject to represent Gay Pride Virginia, Inc. at events and activities as approved by Gay Pride Virginia, Inc. and as agreed upon by the titleholder.

11. During the titled year, the titleholder of Mr. Gay Pride Virginia agrees to be in a socially acceptable manner and presentation at all times in public. If unacceptable social behavior is reported, the title can and will be removed by the Board of Directors of Gay Pride Virginia.

12. Travel, event and housing costs at approved events will be agreed upon between the title holder and the treasurer of Gay Pride Virginia. Receipts of approved expenses will be required for repayment.

13. Titleholder agrees to allow Gay Pride Virginia to use approved photos for promotional purposes of Gay Pride Virginia.

14. Titleholder may not use the title of Mr. Gay Pride Virginia for promotional, print, stage or video without prior approval of the Gay Pride of Virginia Board of Directors.

15. Due to VA ABC laws at no time during the contest(s) can applicants take off anything! Bathing suits can be no less and “Speedo’s”. (NO pubic hair or “cracks” can be seen!) No lewd or lascivious actions can be performed during any of the participant’s appearances.
